The group's principal activity is to manufacture and market polymer and specialty products. It operates in two segments: polymer products and specialty products. The polymer products segment supplies specialty chemicals, such as plastic, rubber, urethane and petroleum additives to the plastics, rubber, coatings, adhesives and lubricant industries. The specialty products segment provides crop protection and agricultural chemicals, such as fungicides, miticides, insecticides, growth regulants, herbicides, as well as high purity hydrocarbon products, seed conditioning aids and commercial seed treating equipment. The group operates in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia/pacific. On 31-Jul-2003, the group acquired ge's specialty chemicals business and completed the sale of its organosilicones business to ge.
